Paula Marzal is Chemist since 1987 and Master in Food Science and Technology since 1989. She is full-time faculty employee of the University of Valencia since 1990. She obtained her doctoral degree in Chemistry in 1992. Nowadays, she is Professor in UVEG and carries out teaching, research and management tasks as Subdirector of the School of Engineering (ETSE-UV). She is professor in the Degree in Chemical Engineering and in the Master Degree in Environmental Engineering Programmes. She is also professor in Doctorate Programmes since 1998. Her research activity has been specially focused on Environmental Engineering issues, mainly on heavy metals removal from wastewaters by biosorption and on the removal of VOCs in air by using biological technologies both in laboratory scale and in pilot/industrial scale. She has participated in 48 research projects including one IAPP action in which she is member of the General Assembly and the Supervisory.
Board and Leader of one work package. She is author of 40scientificpapers in JCR-listed journals, 12 book chapters and has participated in 28 international conferences. In addition, she has supervised 2 Ph.D students and several MSc thesis. She has been awarded with 3 externally assessed research merits (six years periods) and with 4 educational merits (five years periods).
