Francisco Javier Alvarez joined GI2AM (Grupo de Investigación en Ingeniería AMbiental) in 2004, after finishing his Chemical Engineering degree at the University of Valencia (Spain) in which he was awarded with the Extraordinary Degree Award. From that point on, he has been actively working on the different GI2AM research lines, especially in the removal of VOCs in air by using biological technologies both in laboratory scale and in pilot/industrial scale
In 2009, he obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical, Environmental and Processes Engineering at the University of Valencia (Spain).
From 2010 to 2011, Javier was a postdoctoral researcher in the EnVOC group headed by Prof. Van Langenhove at the Gent University (http://www.envoc.ugent.be/staff.htm).
In 2012, Javier got an Assistant Professor vacancy at the Chemical Engineering Department of the University of Valencia. Nowadays, he is carrying out teaching, research and management tasks at the University of Valencia and continue very active in the different GI2AM research lines.
